| The vision for Hungry Children Project was
born following a trip to Ethiopia, Iran, India and Jordan by Paul Webb
(Founder and President) and Tore Stautland (International President) to
observe development work through local initiatives. According to Mr. Stautland:
“It was the images and the desperation that struck us both as we
left with heavy hearts”. Both Paul and Tore were moved with compassion
and felt this trip was providential. Immediately they initiated partnerships
with a Pharmaceutical company in Virginia and with a relief and aid supplier
in Los Angeles. Strategies were planned and unique arrangements made.
They also formed a strong relationship with DHL, the organizations’
shipping agency. “We are proud to be associated with DHL as they
have been a great help and shown real passion for the work we do”,
states Mr. Stautland. With these essential relationships in place, the
ministry of Hungry Children Project began.
Hungry Children Project has been able to minister to thousands of people
in several countries including Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Haiti, The Dominican
Republic, South Africa and Zambia. However, HCP does not do this alone.
To date, 100 tons of food, 20 million dollars of various medicines and
9 million dollars of medical supplies have been delivered to organizations
working in these countries. Through strategic partnerships with such organizations
as Fundacione El Samaritano, Gospel for Asia, Kampuchea For Christ and
Rock of Africa, the supplies are distributed to individuals in crisis
situations.
